Do they test those beds before the event?

The landing bed I mean here is the pole vault landing bed.

Now we all know pole vault is one of the best track and field event to watch in the Olympics. It is a beautiful sport. But at the same time it is a very dangerous sport as well. Imagine using a pole to propel yourself 18 feet high in the air without wearing any protective gear, and you will be landing on your backs. You will need a very soft bed to cushion you without injuries. Therefore pole vault landing beds are very important in the sport.

Do organizers test their beds before the event? If yes, how?

Pole vault and high jump mats are manufactured by reputable companies and are very expensive.
They are guaranteed, and when you assemble them it is easy to tell if they are correct or not.
When the vaulters are warming up they can tell if there is any problem that needs to be corrected before the competition.
The officials are strict so that the equipment and poles meet the rules and regulations.
