Last week, the Atlanta Falcons cut quarterback Joey Harrington. This week the same team re-signed him. The veteran signed a 2-year contract for just under $4 million. The move helps the team with their salary cap.
Even though the move provides more experience in the quarterback position, the Falcons are predicted to choose a quarterback somewhere in the first 2 rounds.

Joey Harrington was cut today by the Atlanta Falcons. Although his career has mostly been a flop, statistically he is the best quarterback taken in the 2002 draft.
Harrington was taken 3rd overall by the Detroit Lions.
Here are the top 5 quarterbacks in terms of TD passes by quarterbacks taken in the 2002 NFL draft…
1. Joey Harrington — 79
2. David Carr — 62
3. David Garrard — 36 (although he should pass him eventually)
t-4. Patrick Ramsey — 35
t-4. Josh McCown — 35
Other quarterbacks taken in that draft include: Kurt Kittner, Rohan Davey, J.T. O’Sullivan, Randy Fasani, Brandon Doman, Craig Nall, Seth Burford, Jeff Kelly and Wes Pate.
