Former Atlanta Brave Horacio Ramirez was released by the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. The Braves traded Horacio to the M’s back in December of 2006 and received closer Rafael Soriano. By releasing him today, Seattle only has to pay 1/6th the salary owed to Ramirez.
Horacio was 8-7 with a 7.16 ERA last season with the Mariners. He was 30-22 in 4 seasons with the Braves including 12-4 in his rookie season of 2003.
