Stat Of The Day
Posted by: Dave McMahon in Atlanta Braves, Stat Of The Day, tags: Fred McGriff, J.D. Drew, Julio Franco, Ken Griffey Sr
J.D. Drew hit a 2-run home run in the 7th inning and the American League eventually won the MLB All-Star game over the National League 4-3 in 15 innings. As you remember J.D. Drew was a member of the Atlanta Braves in 2004.
Remember, in 1994, Fred McGriff was the only Atlanta Brave to win an all-star MVP, but here are other former all-star MVPs that have played for the Atlanta Braves at one time or another.
1980 - Ken Griffey Sr. - won award with Reds, but played for Atlanta from 1986-1988
1990 - Julio Franco - won award with Rangers, but played for Atlanta from 2001-2005 and parts of 2007
1994 - Fred McGriff - see above
2008 - J.D. Drew - won award with Red Sox, but played for Atlanta in 2004
