What a game, today… I already had my stat picked out, but I had to change it.  I think this one is more timely.  The 17-inning game against the Astros was the longest game in terms of innings in Turner Field history and is one of the longest games in Atlanta Braves history… here are the top ones…

20 innings on May 4, 1973: Braves lose 5-4 in Philadelphia to the Phillies

19 innings on July 4, 1985: as mentioned yesterday here

19 innings on May 14, 1988: Braves defeat Reds 7-5 in Cincinnati

If you remember the Braves and Astros had an 18-inning playoff game in 2005 where Joey Devine gave up a solo home run to Chris Burke to give Houston the win (some pitcher named Roger Clemens got the win in that game)

The previous longest game in Turner Field was on May 7, 2002 when the Braves lost to the Dodgers 6-5 in 16 innings.
