The 4th of July holiday is right around the corner, and soon to follow will be the Atlanta Thrashers Prospect Development Camp. This camp will be help between July 8th and July 13th in Duluth, and will be open to the public.
The camp, which will consist of 32 prospects, is designed to assist young players in their development both on and off the ice. All on-ice sessions are free and open to the public.
Among the players scheduled to attend the camp are defenseman Zach Bogosian (above), the Thrashers first-round selection (third overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, and forwards Angelo Esposito (2007 – 1st Round, 20th overall by Pittsburgh), Riley Holzapfel (2006 – 2nd round, 43rd overall), Spencer Machacek (2007 – 3rd Round, 67th Overall) and Vinny Saponari (2008 – 4th Round, 94th Overall), who is the first Georgia born and trained player to be drafted into the NHL.
