Mike Gonzalez came into last night’s game for his first appearance since May 15, 2007. It didn’t look like he missed one day. Gonzalez pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to record his 31st save in his last 31 save opportunities. The southpaw had ligament replacement surgery in his left elbow. Phil Stockman was sent down to Triple-A Richmond to make room for Gonzalez.
