Today the Braves defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 8-1. The win improved Atlanta’s road record to 7-18.
The biggest problem on the road is all these 1-run losses. The Braves have lost 18 straight 1-run decisions on the road and are 0-11 this season.
August 9th of last season is when the Braves last won a 1-run road ball game. The defeated the Mets 7-6. It wouldn’t have been a 1-run game, but the bullpen gave up 3 runs in the 9th.
Before that it was July 8th vs the Padres. The Braves won 5-4, but once again the bullpen gave up 3 in the 9th
Before that it was June 30th vs the Marlins. The Braves won 6-5, but once again you guessed it the bullpen gave up 3 in the 9th.
Before that it was June 15th vs the Indians. The Braves were losing in the 9th, but scored 2 runs as they defeated Cleveland 5-4.
