Fresh off shocking the world by winning the 1997 Masters, Tiger Woods didn’t really light the world on fire the following year.
Tiger won just once in 1998 and it was right here in Atlanta. In his only appearance at the BellSouth Classic, Tiger won. He also picked up a paycheck for $324,000.
That year, Tiger played in 20 PGA Tour events, with that one win, two 2nd place finishes and two 3rd place finishes… he also withdrew earlier that year in Pebble Beach.
I think he did OK after that.
