Chipper Jones made it a point very early this spring to state that the most important statistical goal for him to reach this season is to stay healthy and play in 150 games. Jones appeared in 134 games in 2007, which was his highest total since 2004, and his numbers were fantastic. Braves fans should be excited to hear Chipper reaching for 150.

However, Sunday morning during batting practice, Jones tweaked his hamstring. Jonesplans to shut everything down for a few days, but isn’t too concerned about the injury.

When asked if he was concerned, Jones said “No,” right away, interrupting the question. ”You’re going to do it down here from time to time. Caught it early enough, it shouldn’t be a big deal.”

He said he first felt a little soreness while taking infield. He didn’t pay much attention to it, then it balled up when he was hitting.

“I felt it pretty good right-handed in the cage and then I took two swings to see how it felt left-handed, and I figured I’d stop it,” Jones said. “Just overextended it a little bit.”
