The Atlanta Hawks currently have the longest drought in the NBA without making the playoffs. The last season they made the playoffs was during the 1998-99 season.
They finished 31-19 that season (shortened due to strike) and ended just 2 games out of first place.
That season they were led by Steve Smith, Mookie Blaylock, Dikembe Mutombo and Grant Long.
The only current Hawk that was actually playing in the NBA that season was Mike Bibby, who was a rookie with the Vancouver Grizzlies.
In the playoffs that year the defeated the Detroit Pistons 3 games to 2 before getting swept in 4 games to the New York Knicks.
